April Magazine

Originally formed in 2018, the
bay area indie pop group made
waves with their first album
Sunday Music for an Overpass.

My goal for this project was to create uniquely inspired album artwork and apaprel for April Magazine’s 2021 album release; If the Ceiling Were a Kite while conveying the group’s dreamy and crunchy lo-fi sound.

On each disc, I included little descriptions that were inspired by nature related poetry I enjoyed. I purposely collected specific words to showcase each record’s tracklist and the emotions they made me feel.

The imagery I utilized for this project consisted of a collection of scanned, sourced imagery from vintage post-cards. With the ongoing fight for our natural resources in this world, the postcard felt appropriate with scenes of cabins, lakes, and even logging operations.
